The negotiations during 1994

The process of continuing negotiations on the settlement of the conflict has begun in May 1994 after the cease-fire agreement. At that time, besides Nagorno-Karabakh, Armenia had occupied 7 regions of Azerbaijan, too. After negotiations that began at the initiative of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States the sides finally at the beginning of May, 1994 could reach an agreement on cessation of the fire. This agreement came into force on 12th of May 1994 and thus more than 20 years the Nagorno Karabakh conflict remains as "frozen conflict". However, the Armenian side continues to violate ceasefire, still ignoring the agreement.
